Amazon test delivery robot can be delivered to your door automatically

2019年02月18日 14时27分23秒

As a retail giant, Amazon has been constantly moving, whether in the field of drone delivery or in the field of robot delivery, it has been continuously pushing forward. Recently, according to foreign media reports, Amazon is testing the delivery robot Scout in Snohomish County, Washington.

It is understood that Scout has six wheels, driven by batteries, and its speed is comparable to that of people walking. The robot will send each piece to the user's door. The user pick-up operation is also very simple, the user only needs to provide a unique pick-up code.

Amazon's blog shows that the test time is from Monday to Friday during the daytime period, and about six delivery robots will be used for preliminary testing. In addition, during the testing process, each delivery robot will be accompanied by a human supervisor to respond to unexpected situations. However, Amazon's deployment of shipping will also face many challenges, such as Pepsi, Postmates and Europe and the United States StarshipTechnologies and Marble, because they have done relevant tests before Amazon.

On the other hand, Amazon's delivery robots also face some limitations, such as the fact that they are limited to smooth roads, but in reality it is difficult to achieve idealization. There is still a long way to go before Amazon can succeed in the field of delivery robots.
